Lindsay Osterhoudt is our 3rd grade teacher at Assumption School. This class is full of different learning opportunities. Socialization and collaboration is learned through Snack and Sip and Trivia Thursday with other classes. This allows students to make connections with other kids and become leaders and role models. Hands on learning such as pumpkin science and reindeer games allows hands on fun while the kids gain a better understanding of what they are learning. Several community service projects take place each year, along with recycling and environmental projects. The class pet Cous Cous facilitates responsibility, teaches empathy and compassion, increases student engagement, and helps reduce anxiety. Helping kids reach their true potential in a caring environment is the goal. Here are a few more 3rd grade highlights: Book study with field trip, Soudan Mine field trip, Publish a Classroom Book, Charlotte's Web at the Reif Field Trip, and much more.
